AgencyPOD style learning or advertising your services for in home learning
School is back and for many it is online. Parents and teachers, before you consider POD style learning or advertising your services for in home learning please consider the following:
If you are accepting students in your home as a POD instructor, please, please, please contact your Home insurance provider to make sure in home business exposure is allowed.
If you are providing POD instruction services for a fee, this is considered a business exposure and you may need business insurance.
If you are hosting POD instruction in your home, please make sure you have adequate liability coverage and inquire about purchasing Umbrella coverage. Even then, liability waiver forms may be a good idea.
There are vast unknowns to the liability risk for hosts and educators alike and even my very best friend was considering this as she has a Master’s degree in elementary education, but decided against it after we discussed these risks.
This is such a hot topic, that earlier this week I was sent an article further deciphering POD style learning liability risks. I will post the article in the comments should you wish to read on.
Good luck to all the teachers, parents and students out there in these unprecedented times.
